There are two basic variables that define the intensity of each exercise with weights – repetitions and sets.
For each exercise in the programs we provide at Sportize.me, you will see that we talk about repetitions and sets.
You should know the definitions of each before starting to exercise with weights.
- A repetition is a complete movement (above and below, or forward and back) of an exercise. “End of a repetition” means that we return to the starting position.
- A set is a specific number of repetitions.
For example, when we instruct you to do 3 sets of 10 reps in an exercise, you will do the exercise in 3 parts, or sets, resting for the period of time we specify in between each set.
In each part, or set, you will perform the exercise 10 times or repeat it 10 times in a row.
In total, you will have repeated the exercise 30 times, separately in 3 sets of 10 repetitions each.
With the Sportize.me method we help you train regularly and optimally. In your Private Area on the website, search for the goal that is best adapted to you, for example:
“Increase muscle mass”
“Strengthen the body in general”
