Think you know everything about flexibility?

Flexibility is the range of motion that your joints have.

Women are normally more flexible than men.

Flexibility increases until age 10 and then decreases as we get older.

Flexibility varies for each of the joints of your body; in other words, you can have very flexible shoulders but very little mobility in your ankles.

Here are the 4 conditions that can limit your flexibility:

  1. Tendonitis: Inflammation of your tendons.

  1. Sprain or twist: occurs when you stretch the ligaments of a joint beyond their capacity and they become torn.

  1. Dislocation: occurs when the bones in a joint are moved out of their normal position.

  1. Arthritis: caused by wear and deterioration of the cartilage in a joint.

Working on your flexibility will help you increase agility and help you feel better when ending your exercise session.
