Whenever you go to your doctor for a routine checkup, your blood pressure is always taken. This time, you are told that you have a blood pressure of 112-64.
What does that mean?
Your heart pumps blood throughout your body, and that generates pressure in your arteries and veins.
When your blood pressure is taken, two things are measured:
1 – The pressure generated in your arteries when it leaves your heart (112)
2 – The pressure generated in your blood vessels when blood returns to your heart (64)
If you are a healthy person, the ratio should be 110/65 – 140/90, which is considered normal blood pressure.
High blood pressure is reflected by a ratio of 140/90 or more. This is also called hypertension and creates extra stress on your heart.
If you exercise, you\’ll have a slower resting heart rate than that of most sedentary people.
That\’s why aerobic exercise is one of the best remedies for lowering high blood pressure.
Choose your goal now:
“Start exercising at home”
“Tolerate my daily activity better”
