If I\’m pregnant, can I still exercise?

If you\’re pregnant or think you might be, and you don\’t know what will happen to you if you exercise, here are the main effects that physical exercise will have on your baby during your pregnancy:

Si estoy embarazada, ¿puedo hacer ejercicio?

1- The blood flow to your uterus will normally not be cut off when you exercise.

2- When you engage in physical activity, your body temperature will increase somewhat, and so will your baby\’s, but this will not be harmful.

3- Even though blood flow to your uterus decreases somewhat and the glucose absorbed by your uterus increases during exercise, your fetus\’s metabolism is not affected. It simply means that your baby can take advantage of this energy, so don\’t deprive yourself of the opportunity to exercise.

So yes, you can engage in moderate exercise during your pregnancy. But since every woman is different, if you\’re pregnant and would like to exercise, you should talk to your obstetrician beforehand.

Choose the goal “Exercise during my pregnancy” in your Private Area on Sportize.me, or related goals such as:

“Do prenatal exercises”

“Get my figure back after pregnancy,” as applicable.

See for yourself, with the Sportize.me method, how easy it is to achieve your goal in just a few weeks.

      Muchas gracias! :)

I understand you can continue with your exercise programme if you have a normal pregnancy but not to start a new kind of activity. I played tennis and hiked in the countryside until I was 8 month pregnant, of course being careful about falls. During the first three months, I just hiked. So take it easy and continue with the activities you enjoy. A great exercise is yoga for expectant mothers; you can join a class or buy a DVD. Of course, consult with your doctor or midwife first.

I doubt if one control tire supplier across all three classes would make racing better, but theres no reason it would be worse, and there are obvious cost savings be had, at least in terms of logistics. (One shipment from one location to each race, instead of two.)
