    Depends on the exercise done. For freestanding squats keeping the back in a slight arc and slightly increasing it coming up from parallel protects the back and compensates for change in leverage. Also look straight ahead (or just above) during execution. Keep the abdominals tight and pelvis stationary.Exaggerate the arc more if doing front squats, JMO.

    I agree it does depend on the exercise. Some important aspects of posture come from the feet. It is essential that a person grounds through their feet to create a stable base for any exercise.
