If there is an exercise that works your entire leg completely, it would be the Split or Stride.

Here is how to perform the Split correctly, step by step:

 

1- While standing, place a barbell along your shoulders..

2- Stride forward with one foot, keeping your legs some distance apart to maintain your balance.

3- Bring the knee of your back leg to the floor.

4- To return to your starting position, push back strongly with your front leg.

 

Pay very close attention to these two things for a correct split without injuries:

 

1- Keep your back straight.

2- Keep your legs some distance apart to maintain your balance.

    You have to be careful with your knees. Push through your heels with the leading leg, not the one trailing, as this one should only be used to maintain your balance. Forward knee should be directly over your ankle, never in front. Movement is not forward. You take the step, DROP down, rise, and take the next step. Easy peasy :)
