Running gear: some recommendations

In running, as in any sport, it’s very important to feel comfortable while you’re doing it.

Ropa para salir a correr: mi recomendación

On many occasions, we buy clothes or shoes we see in stores simply because we like the color or the look of them, but that isn’t always smart to do.

Here are Sportize.me’s recommendations for choosing the best running gear:

1-Invest in good shoes. There are a multitude of brands and models for running. Go to a store that specializes in athletic footwear – many of them have sales reps who can study your gait and make recommendations for you.

2-Use running shorts made of cotton or mesh.

3-Wear a breathable, comfortable top. You can wear a T-shirt, or a sweatshirt if it’s cold out.

4-Avoid the use of a belt or plastic wrapped around your waist, which will only make you sweat more in that area – it won’t help you burn more calories.

5-If you run in the middle of the day, use a baseball cap or visor to protect your head from direct sun exposure.

6-In extremely cold weather, use woolen gloves for your hands.

Good socks are a must… No cotton tube socks!

Minimalist shoes, the book Pose Running, a lacrosse ball and a medium jump stretch band. Nothing else matters if your runing like a fool and have crappy mobility in your hips, knees and ankles.

Good running socks and reflective gear!!!!!

A fuel belt for those long runs

    nice tips Fran.

I would also say in cold weather to have a head band… my ears are always the first thing to get cold.

It’s funny that it says to wear cotton or mesh shorts. I don’t think I’ve really seen mesh shorts. Maybe they meant the new microfibre material.
